Soul Reaper progression moves from basic training into meditation, an inner-spirit relationship, Shikai, later rank and activity requirements, and a harder inner-spirit fight for Bankai. The official Trello describes this route clearly, but its numerical requirements were recorded before the current update. Use the current spirit dialogue and mode prompt as your readiness check.
Establish the Soul Reaper route
Complete the tutorial and confirm your race before training. Learn light and heavy attacks, block, dash, interaction, N for meditation, and G for the equipped mode. Use nearby quests, training stations, and Soul Reaper services to build a stable first set of stats.
Choose Strength or Spirit according to the moves you actually use, then keep enough Vitality, Agility, and Reiatsu to survive and complete a rotation. Do not copy a late Bankai boss build during early questing; it may be designed for one private fight rather than normal play.
Unlock Shikai
The official Shikai card describes reaching the early requirement, pressing N to meditate, completing an orb sequence, learning the inner spirit’s name, and defeating the inner-spirit challenge. Older versions name level 15, but the live meditation response should decide when the trial is available.
Enter meditation outside combat. Complete the current tasks exactly as shown, then speak to the spirit after each milestone. If the spirit repeats earlier dialogue, check the quest state and required activity rather than collecting random points.
Before fighting, equip a short basic route and remove any move that the spirit can copy or punish more effectively than you can. Learn the boss’s approach, guard behavior, and safe punish. After the win, confirm Shikai appears in the ability or mode interface and test activation in a safe area.
Train Shikai and rank up
Unlocking the form is not the end of its progression. Use Shikai in normal fights, unlock or upgrade its moves through the current system, and observe the mode meter. Confirm the live activation requirement and whether rank changes the way the bar drains.
Continue stat training and limit breaks. The official rank card describes transformation-related caps, but use the live rank bar. If progression stalls, check whether Shikai is unlocked and whether the current stat range is full.
Prepare for Bankai
Bankai is a later inner-spirit challenge. Older official documentation describes a high-level gate and a point requirement gathered through activities such as Time Gates, raid damage, Storm targets, Invasions, and Incursions. Do not treat those historical numbers as guaranteed current values.
Return to the inner spirit regularly and read the dialogue. Choose one repeatable activity from Modes that fits your build. Track clears and the live readiness response, not only a handwritten point total.
Beat the Bankai boss
The Bankai fight uses a stronger version of your own spiritual kit. Start with enough Vitality to learn the sequence. Keep a short punish for small openings and save longer skills for a confirmed recovery or guard break.
If the spirit copies your equipped techniques, simplify the loadout. A rare move can make the opponent more dangerous without improving your own consistency. Test one change per attempt and preserve enough currency for any planned stat reset.
When the boss falls, confirm Bankai activation and its new moves in the current menu. Do not assume a full meter, duration, or mastery rate from an old card; observe the live bar.
Travel and faction safety
Soul Society is the faction home and can be reached through Soul Reaper portal systems such as Senkaimon when currently available. Use recognizable landmarks and positive reputation conditions. Guards may attack trespassers, and an NPC’s service can depend on faction state.
Use Soul Society for locations and NPC Locations for roles. If a portal does not work, check combat status, equipped action, and current access requirement.
What to do after Bankai
Train mastery through the current supported activities, improve the move route, and decide whether advanced Soul Reaper systems such as Vizard are part of your goal. Those systems can require rare items and maxed progression. Do not consume an Impure Hogyoku without checking the live requirement and the Hogyoku guide.
Build separately for ordinary quests, raids, and PvP. Bankai identity can remain stable while damage, cooldowns, and best combinations change. Keep the current version attached to any performance claim.
Troubleshooting stalled progress
If N does nothing, leave combat, confirm Soul Reaper race, check the current level or rank, and verify that meditation is not on cooldown or blocked by the area. If the orb or quest sequence fails, re-read the prompt and return to the spirit before repeating everything.
If Bankai never becomes available, check rank, Shikai completion, point activities, and spirit dialogue. Do not assume one missing raid drop is required unless the current game says so. When a card and the live prompt conflict, follow the live prompt and record the discrepancy.
The complete route is tutorial and training, meditation, Shikai trial, rank and activity growth, Bankai readiness, then the advanced spirit fight. Keep each milestone observable and you will know exactly where progress stopped.
